Somewhat of a comparison. The cuckoo wasp was photographed near my home in Massachusetts with an SMCA ED 200 f4 macro with the pop-up flash for fill. The Fly was photographed in Oregon using the DA 55-300 @ 230mm with a Canon 500T achromatic close-up lens. The dragonfly was taken in Florida using the DA 55-300 with Canon 500T but at a wider aperture so that the rear wing is in focus, but the head is soft.

Great detail here, and I also like the patterns in the shot with the leaf. I think a tighter crop of just the wing and a little bit of the leaf would look nice as well!
