Wonderful macro shot. Was this natural illumination? Looks like it is. The spider might be genus Araneus, although without a specimen in hand it is extremely difficult to id spiders to genus, unless they are one of the very unusually shaped or colored types.

Thank you! No, this is no natural light. I used my onboard flash with DIY macro flash diffuser. And the spider is Araneus diadematus, indeed. They are very common over here!

I love this photo, Rense. I really like spiders and never evict them from the house, but goodness, I'm glad I'm not the size of a fly!
