Posted By: tcom, 09-02-2007, 06:30 AM

Hello

I am back from my wonderful trip to South Africa, time to post some shots. I start with some landscapes, all shot with K10D and DA*16-50.

1/500s f/8.0 at 16.0mm iso100

1/200s f/9.0 at 19.0mm iso100

1/200s f/6.3 at 26.0mm iso100

1/250s f/7.1 at 24.0mm iso100

1/200s f/10.0 at 18.0mm iso100

1/160s f/11.0 at 22.0mm iso100

1/200s f/11.0 at 31.0mm iso100

more to come...

I am really satisfied by the performance of the DA*16-50. I used this lens in the rain and in heavy dust and did not experience any problem.

Comments and critiques are welcome.

No problem, I have added the one with the Springboks to my pbase gallery, full sized, without any PP here.

Those are some very nice photographs. It appears that you have a very good copy of that lens. Do you happen to have any photos taken at f2.8? many thanks

Did you by chance use a polarizer much?

I used the polarizer for a very few shots, especially at midday when the sun was very strong, but not on these shots posted here.

Walter, I hate you....

For showing me this series of images - they are wonderful!

Of course, you realize that I've wanted (even more now) to go to south east Africa for a while. How long did you get to stay there? Those coastal shots are very inspiring!

Cheers,
Marc

I stayed two full weeks in South Africa, not quite enough. I think it must be possible to make the same tour in three weeks, spending a bit more time at each of the national parcs. In short, I made 3400km in 2 weeks.

South African Airline made me stay one day longer than planned, an additional day I would have prefered not to have, but this is another story.

Wow. South Africa looks like a place to go!

Of course, it reminds me of Texas. Except for the mountains by the ocean.

The shot of the mountains around the bay is spectacular.
