First time shooting baseball. Noise Ninja is awesome!
Posted By: Tyler, 09-02-2007, 08:51 AM

Shot some semi-pro baseball last night. All at iso1600 and even then i could barely get the shutter speed up to freeze all the action. Im still kinda happy though. This experience made me want a 70-200 2.8 soo much more. Slow glass sucks.

Well Tyler from the little blue planet 3rd from the Sun I don't see much noise so that was well done. I think #1 and #2 are great. #3 and #4 could have used a faster shutter speed. #5 is a neat angle and I like it. Finally again #6 could have used a faster shutter. On #6 do you remember if the pitch got by him ? Kinda looks like it.

What mode were you shooting in ? What Lens ? I think those shots are doable with slow glass - fast glass is much nicer to work with but comes at cost $$$

I really like the shot down the dugout. Like them all because they're all good, plus I LOVE baseball... < It is a law here in St Louis > Here is a shot of Albert Pujols a split second before he hit a mammoth home run against the Angels. Shot with my Tamron 70-300

I think he got that hit on #6. Believe it was a double. I was shooting in P partly because I was lazy. I was using the DA 50-200mm and the 18-55mm for the dugout shot. Took a few with the 50 f2 but they weren't worth posting.

thanks! I was surprised how good the lighting was as well when I got there. If only every place was like that.

Good stuff dude! Really really like the dugout shot. Seems like your wb might be a bit warm? Maybe it's just me though. I like a bit cooler shots in general.

Keep it up though! The more action Pentax shooters, the better!
