Shes a little poser I got a bit of practice shooting people which I don't do too much. It's been a year since my last visit which is far too long.

Bulls-eye focus

Shooting kids at f1.4 on manual focus is hard. How was your keeper ratio?

One thing though, maybe close the aperture a bit to get the hair sharp too. I find the forehead blur a little distracting. You have the shutter leeway to close one stop down.

Nice lighting too.

Sincerely,
--Anders.

Thank you Anders, I have quite a few shots that I haven't really went through yet but if I were to guess maybe 50% are keepers. Haylee is a real poser as I said so she made things easier. Here's another photo of my other granddaughter Deja that is shot at 1.6. Her big eyes made it easier to focus also.
I plan on playing with this one a bit more and try B&W and smooth out the skin.

Love the lighting -- soft tones from upper left through the hair. Then the light blue makes a wonderful earth-toned spectrum revolving around the eyes. Great!

Your really nailed these. The eyes are gorgeous. Be warned that your family will have their hands full in the near future with these two beauties.

Wow, I didn't expect to see this one brought up again. I had forgotten all about it.

Anyway, I really do appreciate the comments. I just love playing with thin DOF.
