Some storms from last night that produced a tornado near Severy Ks. I used the Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm so it was much closer than it appears. The problem with the Sigma is that in the dark scenes it is a fine line between the lightning being exposed enough and over exposed. Click them for larger.

Any idea on a good but faster super wide for poorer folks like myself? I have eyed a 20mm 1.8 and a 30mm 1.4 Sigma.

The first has a tornado that was only visible due to the back lighting:

This was of course a blowout because it was much closer than it appears:

Sorry about the excessive watermarking but I like sharing the photos and got tired of having others use my shots as their own with a small one they could remove.

These are fantastic. That would have been a little too close for comfort for me. Awesome results.

LOL, I tend to like using the superwide 10-20mm or the 50mm rather than something longer like a normal person might do.

Striking results.
I take it you're a storm catcher.
Getting your hands on a 20/1.8 sounds great, or otherwise if money permits a DA 21.
Look forward to more of your stormy results...

Yep , and there are tons more on my website and flickr but for this season it is winding down. Hopefully I will have something better for this fall even as I like meteor showers as well but my 50mm 1.4 is just to small of a FOV.
