DA18-55 kit is just fine! (IMGS)
Posted By: jsundin, 09-03-2007, 08:37 PM

After awhile of reading all the posts from people talking of the new DA* or the latest Sigma f2.8 or some other great lens, I start to feel bad that I cann really afford these fine lenses.

Then I take my little DA18-55 kit lens outside into my garden and I feel better. Why? Let me show you...

These are all JPG, straight from the camera, no PP, resized to 800 pixels and nothing else.

No doubt that the kit lens is the best bang for the buck. Nice shots

Nicely done. I like the rose especially, and the last two sunflower shots came off nicely as well. The kit lens works just fine doesn't it.

I too am surprised at the quality of images the kit lens does produce ... as it is the only lens I still have at the moment ... it's the all I have to take photos with.

I am very happy with my photos ... not all keepers ... but the ones I do keep come up pretty nice.

I agree with you...I've purchased several more expensive lenses and have always found the 18-55 to be my favorite...

I too only have tghis lens at the moment and am very pleased with it most of the time. I still cant wait to get my hands on a 200mm lens though. Am waitng for the new pentax fit sigma 18-200mm to hit the shops, although a bit pricey I think I wont need to purchase anything else for a while.

Nothing wrong with the Kit lens...

especially when stopped down to, say, f5.6-f16 values!

Nice pics, I personaly think that no2 is bit blured, but I really like the rose, the first one, and one before last sunflower...
btw, DA 18-55 is excelent lens for the money. It's my most used lens, and I don't think I'm going to get rid of it anytime soon...
