High iso is not too bad.

A little noisy... but I kinda like it. It is actually iso 800.

This is my first post on this forum. I have been lurking for weeks and figured I should join up. Lots of good info on here.

Shutter speed? A little blurry. Was this a shot to test out the noise level?? Flash with less ISO would have given you a better result, perhaps??

I could certainly see the usefulness of high ISO when it comes to, say, macro photography, but portraiture . . . . hm . . . .

Keep on posting though !!

Stuck in a room at ultra low light with no flashes. Wasn't there to take pics.. just thought I would try it out. I never dig this deep into the iso and thought the results were "ok". It was also handheld after a couple adult beverages...haha. I think it is 1/180... So the blurriness is definitely my fault.

Nice expression, a bit blurry? oh well, never mind, it still is a nice picture. And it was f 1.4.

As far as low light photography goes, you are off to a good start with 50/1.4. This high ISO thing is hard for me understand. I do understand that people have different needs, and yes some photographers are forced to deal with this kind of things, say, in wedding photo shoot, or something like that.

But then, you have got to draw a line somewhere and tell yourself (not you in particular!) that you will have to deal with low light situation in some other way other than high ISO, such as flash, or different sources of lighting.

This is of course not a criticism of your photo. So sorry for ranting.

And yes I agree that the noise level is not all that bad. With a tripod and all, this could have turned out sharper.

So K200D does not have a flash?? I thought it did . . . . .

Well.. it has a popup. I don't really consider that a flash.
