I have not finished editing these yet, but had a lot of fun shooting them and thought I would share. Taken over the weekend with a Pentax K10D and Tamron 28-75 f2.8 with light from a Vivitar 283 on radio slave.

I really like your first shot... very natural. Nice lighting all around too. And, of course... a lovely subject!

Thanks for the comments. I am lucky to have friends that like to be photographed, and who look good in the photos. I have several young women to shoot this month for a local radio station - updates for their website of the girls in their calendar, which I shot. It's a rough job, but someone's got to do it. I guess I'll take a bullet for the team.

The first shot looks very natural, charming in a way. A wonderful relaxed protrait.

The 2nd one looks a little bit tense somehow. Beautiful lighting as usual.

I have no ideas about how to shoot studio shots (your photos are always fantastic).

Cheers

Thanks again for the great comments.

In both shots I used flash to mimic ambient light. In the first shot the flash was literally IN the window curtain. In the second it was bounced off the ceiling right by the light bulb in the closet. Ambient light just didn't get me a good enough shutter speed, but I was able to get the look of ambient pretty closely.

As I say, I am lucky to have a few friends that like to be in my photos. Lisa has very bright blue eyes (hard to see in these shots) and very full lips so she is a great portrait subject. She is also a fitness nut and professional hip-hop dancer so she is always in great shape.

Funny part is where I got the idea for these shots. I was doing housework one day in my sweats and ratty t-shirt and was thinking that it would be nice if domestic work were a little more glamorous, a little sexier. It wasn't going to be that way with me doing it, so I called Lisa.

Eaglerapids, I get that a lot. I'll let 'ya know. lol.
