Heron fishing
Lens: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 Camera: 40D Photo Location: MO ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F2.8

Had some fun the other day and finally caught a blue heron catching a fish. I thought I would share.









and now it's lunch time!

Never seen a GBH high-dive like that but quite a meal it came up with. Great series!

I like it, 'shoots,score's' ...looks like one of those 'flying-fish' thats flop'n around
the state, maybe a shad... who cares? its great series str8talk,thanks
Dont know were your at, heads up for osprey along the mississippi,moving through in
a bunch before eagles clear 'em' out.

Thanks, I was going to go Pentax originally and I hang out here from time to time because I enjoy the community here.

thank you. It was partially luck and partially just understanding the bird. I could see it perched up on that branch and new that it was getting ready to feed, so I just focused on it, put the camera in burst and waited patiently for the right moment. Luckily, everything just came together.

Great shots. I have seen this many times and even tried to photo a few. Well done. I love Heron shots. JIM

Thanks Jim. I love blue herons as well. They are a fascinating bird to watch.
