Two of my 9 month old GSD Dena down by the marina.

All contructive criticism welcomed

I would have liked to have had her face brighter but then the background was really bright.. Any tips of how to do this in relation to exposure?

I would also like to blur the background more, I guess I would need a lens that stops down to f2.8 or more to do this with greater depth of field. The kit lens stops to f3.5 I believe?

And one of her at the end of the boardwalk, a little less sharp than I'd have liked but again her face is very dark. Any tips or suggestions welcome

Of the two I prefer the first image. Were these done hand held? I like how the first shot is composed. Watch the time of day where the light may work a little better for you. JIM

Hi Jimbo, both were taken hand held. The dogs tend to zip around the place and stop still for a few seconds then zip about again so I am grabbing shots and moving about a lot after them.

It was getting dark alright and more light would have helped things. I love the colour of the light in the evening time but I guess that's what we have filters for

I definitely like the first one best. The dock composition makes the shot. Cool dog too!
