Silver Mines and Elephant rocks Parks, Southeast Missouri
Posted By: Stratman, 09-05-2007, 08:52 PM

Weather sucked, spent over 2 hours sitting in my car waiting for the rain to stop, but it was worth it, Actually got a few decent shots, and made my first Pano with auto stitch.

this one was 5 handheld images stitched together. To give you an idea of the size, the tall round boulder was about 15 feet tall.

A nice view...

Millions of years of weather made these little water holes in solid granite..

Old granite quarry..

A tight fit !!!

These next two are my attempt at humor, lol

This place provides a really nice view. It would have been nice to have something next to those large boulders to put the size into context. Nice series!

I agree, would have been nice if the weather wasn't so lousy, there would have been lot's of people there, and i could have given more perspective to the boulders. But it was kinda nice to have the place to myself too, lol, a double edged sword....

Have seen Elephant Rocks advertised for years but have never been. Now you're making me want to take a road trip.

Nice shots!

Is the stitch feature something in PhotoShop? I have Paint Shop Pro Photo and have not found it in there yet.

I think the just-after-the-rain colours more than made up for the wait... but then I wasn't the one waiting in the car!!! Actually I think the shot through the rainy window is one of the best - wonderful colours again! Well done.
