Early Oil Well Pump

Here's a shot of something I've photographed before: an early 19th century oil pump. I've posted pics of this thing earlier, and possibly one or two B&W ones, but I'm pretty sure I've never done this particular composition (I'm too lazy to look).

Looks like many interesting compositions could be formed using this subject, and I think this one of them. Nice work!

Really good selection of viewpoint and B&W to convey a subtle story.

Nice shot Jer - Back in my blue collar days I worked on those pump jacks at one time - man they are messy units and I immediately went to bigger Iron (which prompted me to be a white collar guy hahah).

This one is very well done. You have brought out the character of the once mighty rig.

Thanks, JIM - yeah I love to do B&W conversions; don't know why I don't do more of them.

Appreciate it, Dave. I can image that these things are messy for sure; sounds like you made the right career move.

Hey buddy, I think I do understand, unfortunately. We're subject to the Three Laws of Thermodynamics - which for daily living translate to this:

1) You Can't Win

2) You Can't Draw

3) You Can't Leave the Game

Возможно ржавый металл и облезающая краска будут хороши в цвете так же.
