Some football shots
Lens: Tamron AF 70-300mm Camera: Pentax K-x
Posted By: kmets, 10-02-2010, 06:34 PM

I thought since I have received so much help here, I would share some of the shots i've gotten. I don't do any pp yet, so these are exactly as taken. I figure I will shoot the whole season, learn how to use the camera, then over the winter when I have more time I can do some pp on the good ones.

You've caught the key action scenes pretty well.

Great shots, you seem to have caught the action well, one question though, how many blurry shots did you get ? I'm just starting out and I always like to know that others have had similar errors as I have had, makes me feel like I'm not the only one that has had some rubbish shots.

Being from Australia and only seeing very little of the NFL over here I was surprised how skinny those players are, I always thought that you'd have to be built like a MACK Truck to play such a bone smashing game. Good on them I say.

Don't let any body tell you that you can't, we'd never get any where if we listened to others who have No dreams !

Team Pentax, I do get some blurry ones, but my biggest problem is sometimes I end up shooting too high or too low. I don't use a tripod so if it is windy or my hand moves when I shoot, I have the framing wrong. Also, I get a lot where one thing or person is in focus but the key action is not.

Biggest overall problem is officials that run in my shot though!

Thank you! Your compliments mean so much to me. This is my first dslr and I've only had it for about 4 months. Seeing the excellent photography here has inspired mean, and your compliments are so appreciated!

Great shots. Getting that ball in the scene is key to a great action shot.
Try a mono pod it will keep you level and help with the wind. A cheap but useful one can be had at your local Walmart.
Not much pp needed you did great.
