Camera: Fuji Finepix S9000
Posted By: WPRESTO, 10-05-2010, 05:48 PM

I used this Fuji camera about 2 years to ease the transition to digital from my LX and *ist. The IQ was pretty good at moderate focal lengths, but suffered at the long end (300mm equivalent). For macros, it worked better with a Nikon achromatic close-up lens than with the macro setting in the camera. What the camera lacked in quality in made up in convenience, so I retired the LX and *ist, and several lenses, and opted for a K10D.

Not bad at all, and nice shadows! Not the perfect specimen, though- see that bitten petal?

Good detail - tough exposure with the backlighting.
Keep at it - you'll find digital photography more and more enticing.

Thanks for comments. The slightly ragged bloom was selected because I thought the damaged petal added visual interest.

AND ASH: In fact I have committed 100% to digital, to the extent of trading in the *ist and the beautiful LX with all its finder, flash-wire, screen, winder, etc. accessories. I resisted digital a long time, because it took a long time to master chromes to my satisfaction.
