The deer in your backyard is my favorite, that lens looks pretty good to me. Hopefully we'll see some 16-50 shots from you soon.
Hi Sean,
The woodcarver who did this was equally capable of doing other animals that were "off the chart" realistic. Talk about wishing to have money to spend on the more artisitc side of life.
I have to say that the DA*50-135 2.8 appears to be a very sharp and solid performer. I have not used it much as I usually use my 31 and 43 for panoramic work 90% of the time.
I'll definately post images from the 16-50 as soon as Pentax replaces the one I bought.
For the most part, aside from the 16mm open apertures the lens seems to function quite well and renders beautifully toned and contrasty images. But, if it is decentered at 16mm, why buy a 16mm lens? I think, no matter what, there is always going to be a little to some CA on this lens just as there is with the 16-45... although I don't own that lens but have seen the output. I think it is inherent in the design of all high end lenses from any manufacturer. That (CA) I can live with. It is the decentering that causes issues. I'm most confident that Pentax will work out the early production bugs in a relatively short order.
Once you hit 20mm and on, the lens seems to settle down quite nicely. If I have a chance I'll look through some test shots just to give an idea of capabilities.
