Managed a shot or two of a Flicker this beautiful fall morning.

For the longest while all he showed me was his backside

but he finally turned around

Thanks Dave,

The light was just perfect this morning.

The old M series glass does display a special sort blue.

I've been informed that this is actually a female Red-Bellied Woodpecker. Egg all over my face but I got the shot.

It was a perfect fall day made even better by the appearance of a bird I don't see very often.

We don't get many days this nice, especially on Saturdays, so I was pleased to get out and enjoy it.
