Three tri-motor aircraft from 1990
Lens: Takumar 28-80 Camera: Pentax K-1000

Still gaining experience scanning negatives.
These are scans from the early 1990's. I think these images are from around 1992 or so.
"Three holers" as they are known were popular up until not long ago.

First, my sentimental favorite: Boeing 727. I flew countless times on those. Very particular sound, very loud at takeoff. Love it!

Delta Airlines Lockheed L-1011 Tristar. That palm tree better get out of the way...

American Airlines DC-10
No longer in use by American Airlines as far as I know.

Nice examples of the aircraft and great light for shooting them. re:Scanning, I would check into your sharpening technique. The top/front of each against the dark background of the pines seems to have been over-sharpened. Maybe it's just from a fairly low-res scan, but if you are doing it yourself, you should be able to clean that up and have better results.

Loved the 727's I spent fourteen years working in general aviation and we use to handle all the sports teams and a lot of them flew 727's they sucked up the fuel, I was sad to see them go. The L1011 was a great plane but never seem to real popular with the airlines, I suspect fuel burn was probably the reason.
