Photo Hunting
Lens: DA* 300mm + 1.5 TC Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Illinois

Here are a few shots I took while "photo hunting" as I call it. My friends are nice enough to allow me to tag along while they do actual hunting.

All of the processed photos are here:

Here are a few:

I was shooting with a K-7, DA* 300mm, Kenko 1.5x TC all on a Bushhawk camera mount.

The second one is really moody and I really like it. The best part about hunting/fishing/hiking (to me at least) is to wake up really early, walk in nature and see things that blows you away by their beauty. Thanks for sharing some of that beauty with your picture!
Did you find it hard to carry the lens around all day ?

Thanks for the kind comments. The second one was my favorite of the day as well.

I completely agree with you about: "The best part about hunting/fishing/hiking (to me at least) is to wake up really early, walk in nature and see things that blows you away by their beauty."

We started on the road at 4AM and finished at 11AM. The early morning is amazing, but difficult to capture. I've only been bringing my telephoto setup. I'm down to one camera body, so I need to see if I can spring for a second one so I can bring two bodies and two primes lenses (I'd rather not be switching out lenses in the field). I wish Pentax had something like the DA* 55mm but wider angle. An aperture around 1.4 with WR and wide angle would be great.

That camera setup wasn't too difficult to carry around for say 5.5 hours that I did. I had a decent camera strap and a lot of padding clothing wise.

This is how it looked:
