All of these were from Watkins Glen SP. A beautiful (though really damp) place to visit if you get the chance.

Thanks Jim. I seem to have taken an inordinate amount of rock shots on this trip. Maybe I have an inner geologist too.

Haven't been to Watkins Glen since I was in HS. Have you ever been to Robert Treman SP? Just as nice a gorge but much less well known.

Robert H. Treman State Park - NYS Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation

This first part of this set is Cornell Plantation. The second part is the gorge and the upper part of Lucifer falls.

Yes Boris, we did go to Treman SP. Nice falls there too. We went to quite a few NY state parks while we were in that region and I have to admit, there wasn't a bad one among them. You New Yorkers should be proud. In all of our travels (and we have traveled lots) that is one of the cleanest states we have ever been in.

The second shot also grabs me. The rock shapes are visually pleasing.

I wish our downstate politicians saw it that way. They continue to threaten to close parks in the name of saving a few million dollars.
