Sharp photo @ f/8
Posted By: Larsenio, 10-21-2010, 10:19 AM

Hi there, want to share this photo with you.

Mostly just because I think my daughter is so very cute she deserves it, but also to show how a "cheap" lens like the one I used here, 28mm Auto Chinon f/2.8 becomes a really decent portrait lens, stopped down to f/8-11.

Here I`ve used a softbox on my pre-historic external Vivitar flash, and a reflector to guide the light to her face..
You judge, but I find this sharp enough for very critical eyes

Hi
Are you being ironic?
Hope so, at least what I can read from the test it looks quite good to me...
Just when you compare it to FA 35/2 for example...

OK, here's the inevitable cliche: photographers create and capture great images, not equipment.

Thanks again for lovely comments...

Actually I`ve known quite a while that she`s a charmer. And a lucrative one as well!

This summer I won a photo competition with her as the motive. The price was an Olympus E-PL1 kit, camera bag and 16GB memorycard.
Gave this to my wife (as a test) and she bit the hook, which was ; selling everything but the memorycard to buy a Pentax K-r, which she (we`re) is now waiting for
They`ll be sending it tomorrow and hopefully we have it in a couple of days

Won the camera with this picture of her:
Taken with my 55-300mm attached to my K10d, not f/8 this time, but f/5.6@230mm.
