This photo was taken after a day of rain. The day was also windy and the gull was trying to fly against the wind.
The black that you see is my curtain.

crop the shot and get rid of the curtain.

The shot maybe will be better with your advise, but I like that curtain, the shot gets mysterious, I think.

oh, no, keep the curtain, i think. not a huge fan of the post title, but i like your shot a lot.
