Preying (sic) Manis
Lens: M50 f/1.7 plus extension tube Camera: K200 Photo Location: Home ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F11

Recently bought extension tubes and this is one from first round of macro pics using M-50 f/1.7.

I still need to figure out a proper flash softlight solution, but this was simple external flash bounced off a white ceiling.

Very pretty eyes! :-)

I would have chosen slightly great depth of field, it looks to me like the nearest part of the nearest eye is slightly out of focus, and I think I would have preferred the focus plane to include both eyes - at least all of the nearest one.

I like the lighting though - your bounced flash seems to have done the job very well!

Mantis' are the coolest creatures... In fact I think they are the only bug I have a liking for. LOL... They exhude intelligence and curiosity. Well done on the shot, in spite of the shallow DOF!
