Nice one Mike!!! The background is a
bit busy, but all in all I like this one!

Must admit I find high speed shots of moving water like this facinating compared to the "required" misty slow shots. Nice capture Mike.

Cool shot, Mike - based on what I've read thus far, the rally appears to have been fun.

Love the shot Mike. It that water or ICE? I has to be water but it does look like ice. Cheers JIM

Thanks Rense. I'm not thrilled with the background either, but the way the fountain is arranged there is almost no way to avoid it without getting up higher and I think they would frown on me bringing in a tall stepladder. LOL

Thanks Lee! Gotta know when to use each technique. This would have been boring as a long exposure.

Thanks Jim... Yeah it's liquid water, but the wind was gusty which spread it out into these strange patterns. I was quite pleased with the result. Should have used a faster shutter speed though since even though it is in perfect focus it looks slightly OOF from motion blur. I will be going back for more.

The shapes are beautiful, and I really like how the background arcs of water are mimicked by the in-focus near-ground jet, as well as the irregularities captured by the fast shutter speed. Lovely hues of blue, too.
