On fire
Camera: K10

Though it may appear that my images are always soft and dreamy, this is not always the case. I do prefer the softer light of an overcast to bright sky for most autumn scenery. Overall scenes are easy enough with harsh sunny day light, but for small scenes, the harsh light forces me to think about other ways to capture good images. Here are a couple taken with strong light, which I think came out rather well and are expressive. All camera movement based. Give it a try.

You are right on. The kind of creative shots I will never have an eye to make. Both are quite interesting but #2 I really find hypnotizing.

Thanks everyone. The techniques are easy enough, it's getting the image in the right areas of the frame that is hardest. Practice, practice- it's only pixels! Would never have dreamed of saying that in the film days!

Add my vote to the blurred birches. The repeated pattern with enough detail to identify the subject makes for a painterly image, but could also pass as a haunted forest - a legion of ghost trees.

Love #2 so much!

Just yesterday I was thinking about capturing the fall foliage with movement, similar to your style. But then I had to go change some diapers and wash some baby bottles, etc etc etc.

Thanks. I learned the second technique reluctantly. I just did not feel like shooting in hard light. But finally, I gave it a try and realized that I could paint with harsh light! So always give it at least a try.

Very amusing. And I have been there. Now that they are grown they want to change me!
