I found some awesome Anise Swallowtail caterpillars by my friends house on a rainy day and thought Id bring them inside and raise them!

They munch all day on sweet fennel leaves!

Hopefully I'll have more photos when they hatch into butterflies

What a series with just a very good lens and a bunch of caterpillars! Beautiful work. A dreamy insight into the lives of those creatures.

Those are really cool caterpillars. Pretty. The 8th images speaks to me. It's saying that if I had these caterpillars for my very own I would probably spend the majority of my day watching them go about the business. How entrancing. Nice shots. Thanks for sharing them.

These are great. My personal favorites (in this order) are 4, 9, and 8.

All with the DA 35 Macro

Haha I had some time today to get more photos of the little guy!

he hasnt ventured outside yet! too cold

Those wings are covered with thousands of tiny scales

Warmer so outside he goes! but its wet...

Wings stretched but its cold again. Most butterflies fly at an optimal temperature of around 80 degrees

Amazing photos, and what pretty little bugs you got there.

On a side note, this DA 35 renders some amazing colours that's hard to describe. All pics I've seen out of it till now are amazing, doesn't matter the body.

Perfect lens for documenting this series of events.
Hard to pick a favourite out of those shots, but I'll say the last photo.
