If he wasn't part of a circus troupe I'd have to say it would be creepy just bumping into him on the street. I am just not a huge fan of clowns but he is colourful!

I had a few dates with a clown last year, so I'm not creep'd out by them. However Sue was better looking.

She really is a clown, and entertains birthday parties

The story is.....

I was out with my daughters "Venturing Crew" (an offshoot of the Boy Scouts) and we were at an ice cream shop waiting for the rest of the group to show up. The clown pulled up in his car to get some ice cream. Of course when he got out of his car I asked how many other clowns were in there...

When he came out of the shop I had my camera in hand. He went back to his car and got his hat and red nose and posed for a few shots. He was a pretty good sport about it all.

At first glance, I thought you'd picked up some VPN, but it turns out it was just his tie!

A nice shot of a gentle looking fellow.

WOAH! I think I saw the same clown on Saturday! (or another old creepy guy dressed as a clown) Just finished batch processing the photos overnight last night, so I'll try to remember to come back and post my creepy old clown guy photo(s). Oh, I'm in Pennsylvania, so it could have been the same clown "troupe"

If it weren't for the flower in his hat, I would think he was dressed for golf.

It's called coulrophobia - here's the inevitable wiki link: Coulrophobia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to suggest that the first three quoted above have an actual phobia, but I was starting to giggle as I scrolled through the responses! So much for the idea that everybody loves a clown.

Nice shot, he does look pretty harmless. Goofy, but harmless.

"He does look prety harmless.

I don't want to hi-jack anyone's threads just to post my own rant, but is it so bad to ask ourselves why anyone "normal" would want to do the following?

1. Have to significantly overdress is blazing summer heat.
2. Wear giant shoes that greatly reduce your mobility.
3. Wear a fake nose that impairs your breathing.
4. Wear a wig/hat that makes your head itch and sweat.
5. Wear face paint/make up that hides your real identity and stings your eyes when sweating.
6. Work for free just to end up making as many kids cry as you make laugh.

It's simply logical to suspect ulterior motives from these sorts of people and their desire to be around children. All I know is that no clown will get within 5 feet of my kid.

Ok /rant off!
