Along the road in Montana, USA
Posted By: wjwncpro, 12-04-2006, 02:51 AM

Just put new tires on the truck and I had to test them out driving up Flesher Pass across the Continental Divide in W. Central Montana. All shots handheld and blurry, sure wish the DS had SR. Cold and overcast day in the late afternoon but it was still a fun drive and the tires passed the test...

All taken with Pentax *ist DS & FA 28-105/3.2

Snap shot of my new tires
1/60s f/4.0 at 28.0mm iso200

So where's the blurry, These shots are great. To bad about the light but in some cases you really don't want bright sun lit days. And I've been in that area many times as an over the road truck driver it's a fantastic view and you captured it very well.

Good Shooting.
Cheers: David

Hi David, thanks for the comments. I'm trying to talk myself into getting SR, but I'm just not sure if I want the K100 or K10. I got to this area about an hour to late for good lighting, what light I had I was losing fast. Hopefully next weekend this road will still be passable and I'll get there earlier. Driving on roads like these happens to be my favorite pastime. Although I haven't driven a semi since '72 over the highlands of South East Asia.

Your pictures convey a lot more cold than the last time you drove a semi.
I'll bet later on this winter you won't even be able to see the guardrails.
Hope you get some good winter landscape shots and enter one in this months photo contest.
