LIke this

Under the little blue arrows is a yellow bx with what looks like a moutain with the sun. Click it and include the link to your picture there. Great shot and welcome

Nice photo pcarfan,

Was it taken in a zoo?
If so which one if you don't mind me asking?

I like the shot, it's well composed and has good overall colour but the focus appears off to me. It looks like the log just in front of the monkey (?) is sharper than the body is. Which camera were you using?

This was at the Cincinnati Zoo with my K10D and the Tamron 18-250. In this image the tree in the front is probably more focussed than the monkey. There is a few more posted here in dpreview

great try!

the only thing I would change is next time try to get the monkey with a less "busy" forground/background. I could be just me, but it seems to me a simple background would be better. maybe a closer crop?
hope this helps as it is a good shot overall!

cheers

Personally, I don't think I would have changed a thing. Very nice photograph!

Flickr... First, go to "all sizes" Get the size you want, go below the photo and copy the link for option 2. Come back here, open the insert image icon, and paste the link in the box. Pretty darn simple once you do it once.

Very nice shot overall. Sure the monkey is a tad behind the plane of focus but not enough to be really bothersome. I like the composition and colors. I'm not usually a fan of zoo shots but this one works well since the environment looks very natural (except for that rope/cable around the tree behind him... I'd try cloning that out...). Also, the monkey appears very natural and relaxed too. Well done and welcome to PF.com!
