A sense of scale - Grand Canyon
Lens: DA* 16-50 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Grand Canyon

It's sometimes difficult to get a sense of scale when viewing shots of landscapes. Here are some with a 7 pasenger helicopter to hopefully aleviate that problem.

Wow - these are great shots, buddy. The idea of "scaling" off the helicopter does the trick.

I've only been to the GC once, but I can remember that the scale of the thing is hard to absorb - even when you're looking at it with your own two eyes.

Great job.

Jer

Great MBIF shots (mechanical BIF).
Beautiful vast landscapes there.

It really is tough to describe or realize from shots down there but you have done a great job Dave. I went back to watch my video again to relive it ;-)

Eve these don't give you the depth it deserves. One thing I missed was a boat in the river down below. I think it was as we headed back to the copter but i wish I had got a shot of it as it really looked TINY compared to the surroundings.

Thanks Pat - indeed we (as you know) were at a relatively narrow part (3km) with the widest being 13km or so .....there were no boats when we were there but it was nice enough for sure.
