Few macros - bugs and such...
Posted By: Duh_Vinci, 09-22-2007, 05:07 PM

Been busy at work, sent K10D for free cleaning under warranty, but got to know 100D a little better, and absolutely no regrets in purchasing this body.

(All EXIF intact, DFA100mm)

Now this one was a poser, so few of what would become Tiger Swallowtail:

C&C always welcome!

Regards,
D

Super shots. I love bug macros.

I'm planning to add the K100 Super to my camera bag in the near future.

These are just wonderful... I am wanting a macro lens for my K100 but I cant wrap my mind around the cost. But the proof is in the puddin' as they say.
Are these shot with natural light? Handheld?
I can not pick a fave, they are all fantastic as our Governator would say.
Kudos
Gus

Really beautiful macros. Really great details with clarity of colour!! Fantastic stuff.

I did not know that is what my DFA could do.

Did you draw the eyes on these worms?

Hehe

Thank you all for taking your time to comment, much appreciated and glad you like these!

Gus - the fly and the spider are with flash for fill, otherwise the shadows would have overpowered overall. All handheld except for the mantis - tripod, it was very early morning, with nice light, but just not enough, love the pistol grip/ball head, allows for quick composition/recomposition to be a snap!!! All exif data intact if you want to see the detailed exposure settings...

James - to be honest with you, I almost put that DFA for sale, jut didn't use it enough, and kinda regretted at first that a large chunk of money went to the lens that gets very little use. BUT - the more I use it, the more I like it, and looks like it's finding it's "almost" permanent place on K100D

As for the "eyes" - sure, painted indeed, but not by me, mother nature can be so creative!!!

D

Great shots D. Perfect detail and great lighting which is really tough when the portrait studio is maybe a couple of inches across, hehehe You have much more patience than I do.

Mike

p.s. thanks for your comments on my candid portrait.
