Hello

I picked up this lens in my usual store for testing during the weekend yesterday, so I went out this morning and tried to make some test shots with this lens. All photos have been taken with K10D, in RAW and simply converted to jpg with Silkypix, without any processing otherwise (so sensor dust is still visible on some shots)...

First some tests on bokeh:
1/320s f/2.8 at 80.0mm iso100


1/100s f/5.6 at 80.0mm iso100


Bokeh looks fine to me, quite smooth at f/2.8 for a zoom lens.

Then some shots to check the sharpness and color rendition:
1/320s f/5.0 at 85.0mm iso100


1/320s f/7.1 at 50.0mm iso100


1/400s f/8.0 at 65.0mm iso100


These photos have been resized by pbase and are rather difficult to check. So I have under K10D Photo Gallery by Dominique Schreckling at pbase.com, these photos in full resolution for those interested.

The sun was already very bright again, making further photos difficult to take. But I would say, this lens is a great performer. Sharpness, color rendition and bokeh is very good for a zoom. At first, I just wanted to test the lens, without any real intention to buy it, but with such results, I am really hesitating now in buying this fine lens...
