Self Portrait With 10-17mm Fisheye
Lens: 10-17 FE Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Geelong Waterfront ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 2s Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: Christopher M.W.T, 11-25-2010, 08:07 PM

Shot lastnight on the waterfront Geelong. Use a yongnuo 580 mounted on camera with bounce card to diffuse.

Original image straight out of the camera, shot with Daylight WB & Reversal film mode.

Editted in photoshop with sharpening, curvers, levels & high pass filter.

I like the original image better.
But really I think this is very cool - I like the contrast between the 'normal-ish' white balance on you, and the extreme yellow cast of the background. Really something different and I think it's quite effective.

cheers

Yeah a bit of luck that one, I'd love to try it with a couple of flashes instead of one next time to.

Not a bad result mate.
#2 looks even more like the sky's on fire all around.

Yeah no.2 is my favourite, so much more dramatic.

Wow, this doesn't have that fishy effect that you normally see in shots with a FE.
Great self portrait.

The Pentax/Tokina 10-17mm is a very unique lens if used right.

I really wish this lens was FF compatible I love it!

I'd love to try this again with 2 flashes and a softbox or umbrella lighting.

Interesting! Cool idea - I never thought of using my 10-17 for something like this (of course no picture of me would be worth much).

I always enjoy your FE shots.
