Get rid of the bird?

This morning I took some shots of deer playing along the shore of one of the islands in the National Park where I work.

This was probably the best, but they put up a drake mallard that might take away from the overall impact of the shot. I can't decide.

Should the duck stay or should he be cloned out of existence?

It's in a funny pose and OOF so I say lose the duck. Excellant capture BTW.

I'd say get rid of the bird since it appears to be attached to the deer.

Photography-wise... I *guess* the duck detracts. But for interestingness and 'keepin' it real' ...I think the duck should stay!

I personally like the Duck.. but it does seem akward and misplaced..

Is it possible to move it???

Otherwise.. I guess even though I like it.. I would remove it due to its location..

How about getting rid of the deer directly behind the duck instead? Cropped a little then on the right and it would look like the other two startled the duck into flight. Another even harder option is relocating either the conflicting duck or deer.

I guess I'm weird. I liked the duck! Is it a perfectly composed picture of three deer? Nope. It's a great picture of three deer and a duck:-). I like the positions of the deer better in the second picture, I just wish the duck was there also!

I think the duck detracts artistically in the first shot Tom, but it's still a great picture and I bet that shot will be a good memory for some time to come. The second shot is better as far as the deer are concerned and I like their poses better also.
