So, I was fortunate enough to go to Cambodia in late October/early November. We were in the country for nearly 2 weeks and spent time not only in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap (Angkor Wat & other temples), but also the city of Battambang. Below are just a few samples of some of the best, but if you'd like to see more, please click on these links to see my blog entries highlighting the three main aspects of the trip:

Cambodia: People and Places

Angkor Wat and other temples

Khmer Rouge Legacy

And, here are just a few of the photos:

Thanks for looking. Click the links above for more.

Great shots Derek. It's a rare privilege to be able to travel other parts of the world and observe other ways of life. They have such a long history, compared to us here in the U.S., it's hard to imagine all they have gone through as a people over the ages. Congratulations on being able to capture some of their life.

I love cambo, been there quite a few times. Phnom penh is changing so fast but still has most of its old edge, too bad they filled in the lake and sold it to the south koreans for luxury condos.

The people and food are fantastic. The Angkor temples...they are certainly the most impressive things I have seen in 30 countries travel!

Some fun facts, in 1000AD Angkor had a population of 1 Million while London had a population of 10,000. Angkor Wat the main temple of the bunch was built in 35 years!! It is immense and intricate, much more so than any cathedral in Europe and those took hundreds of years to build. Never mind that Angkor was built on water...

Great shots! I cant wait to go back!
