GREAT series!!! can't wait for a little bit of the white stuff to fall here. I may regrett saying that soon

Nice set. Thanks for sharing. The BW conversions would not look so flat if the snow was more "white". Nothing wrong with your interpretation of the scene except it is reminiscent of a photographer that relied on automagic metering that was fooled by the strong values of looking into the Sun.

Thanks for the input! I actually flattened the tone in several of these, trying to draw attention to the silhouttes and the textures of the snow surface, plus (I think) that treatment enhances the mood I was after. I think a traditional bright white snow would have detracted from the texture and definitely the mood. (If I understand what you were suggesting.)

They say Eskimos have a hundred words for 'snow', and I (living in Minnesota) have explored a hundred ways to shoot snow. This is just something different than my usual.
