Woodland Abstract in Blue
Lens: Helios-44K-4 58mm F2 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Hemmen, NL ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 2s Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: Rense, 12-08-2010, 03:01 AM

Shot for P52 of this week ("Blue"), but I am quite satisfied with this one, so I thought I'd show it here too. It's vertically panned, underexposed with an off WB. Together with the late hour in the afternoon under a heavy overkast sky ('blue shadow') and the white snow it resulted in a blue photo, what I was after. In PP I adjusted levels and added a little blue saturation. I hope you like it as much as I do....

Well I like abstracts, Rense, and this one is particularly beautiful. It looks to me like a woodland seen through a silky sheer curtain billowing in a breeze. When you say you had an "off WB," do you mean that you had not altered the WB for snow?

Classy and - for some reason - sort of spooky, for lack of a better word. Nice idea.

Thanks Tamia! When I say "off WB", I mean that I altered the WB in such a way that it caused a blue hue.... a massive blue hue

Thanks Jim! Somehow I just love making this kind of non-figurative photos....
