My K10D is here. Photos inside!
Posted By: Asad_Masede, 12-06-2006, 03:38 AM

I won't say much in this thread, just that it's everything I read it was, but has a few livable quirks, I love it's smooth mirror return. Needless to say I'll post a write-up of the K10D very soon.

In the meantime, here are the pics:

I got a phone call from the shop where I had ordered my K10D from in the morning and I was on my way. They only had gotten two, one was mine and the other was another forum member's, Joseph D. Joseph got there some 20 minutes after me and here is him completely fixated on the K10D, wallet in hand, ready to grab the shiny black box!

Some food to celebrate, this was close and quick (relatively):

At the station on my way home:

Hmm... at first I thought she was being hassled by her boyfriend, then he said something about her being "under arrest" (apparently for shoplifting)... put handcuffs on her and off they go:

This was interesting too... and for those wondering, I think panning works fine with SR...

The K10D is not the only "new toy" here... my 'book is very dear to me :-D, it broke the bank but it's worth it I think.

The rest are here: Gallery Folder

Thanks for viewing and any comments welcome...

Cheers!

I like the shop lifting pic. She was escorted away with the handcuff. This is like watching a drama happening

Hehe, what a first photo trip...
I have only one remark: you must celebrate one more time - with more decent food..

Enjoy your new toy, Asad!

Hey Asad...I don't recall signing a release form.

Great pictures....I like the action one of the gal being taken away. Man...one badly timed meeting and look what I miss. Though your burger sure looked better than my meatloaf!

Take care and chat with you soon!

(P.S. That's a good shot of me there....I do look like an expecting father...again...ha ha...can you send me the original? Thanks!)

Slipchuck, a man after my own heart (and arteries). Love fries and gravy!

Asad, excellent shots and good capture on the drama of the arrest. I think the car panning came out very good, both coming and going.

Joseph, is that a little drool I see on your chin?

Thanks for the trip Asad. Would be interested on a closer crop of the overhead sign in the "subway" or whatever (didn't have it in '75) - how did the SR work on that one.

There was only one descent dealer in Vancouver in those day - Astrad I think!!! or was that a computer?

LoL! It's funny, I was telling a friend the other day that ever since I've received my K10D, I've been eating nothing but junk food for some reason... maybe it's the excitement that's turned me into a little boy happy about a new toy. :-P

Cheers,

Uh oh... better talk to my lawyer! :-P

Thanks Joseph, yeah we should do a Pentax Vancouver get-together sometime soon and actually go and shoot together instead of just sitting, now that we have our K10Ds.

I'll send you the full version of that image soon, I keep forgetting to do it.

Cheers!

You know the worst thing that has happened to my 31/1.8 Limited is that I dropped a whole bunch of fries and gravy over the poor thing... don't ask how when or where, I felt like finding the nearest bridge to jump off of!

Thanks, panning works great with SR I've never had a problem, I don't know what Pentax talks about when they say SR should be turned off while panning.

Cheers!
