Friends and food, with a new lens!
Lens: F 50 f/1.7 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Flat Top Aperture: F1.7
Posted By: wshi, 12-15-2010, 12:35 AM

Hey guys. So I've pretty much completed my first trade on this forum (still have some cash to pay), and out of it I got an F 50 f/1.7. My fastest lens before this was the M 50 f/2, so to go from a stop down metering, manual focus, soft at f/2 lens to a fast autofocus, auto exposure, sharp at f/1.7 lens is awesome. Focus is bang on with my K20D also, which I'm glad. Build quality seems okay, but hopefully the autofocus mechanism lasts... I suppose if its gotten this far, it'll keep chugging along for many more years... again, hopefully

Anyway, here are some shots I took while out with friends this evening.

From what I've seen, the bokeh at f/1.7 looks fun.

Like I said, pretty sharp wide open.

Comments always welcome, if anyone uses this lens

Very sharp, the colors are lovely and the bokeh really nice. I want that lens and some dinner.

looks good, what do you mean by the autofocus mechanism lasting? I was considering this lens as well.....

Well, the lens feels fairly solid but the focus ring doesn't feel terribly confidence inspiring. It should be fine, but I have no idea how long these autofocus lenses from the late 80's will last in the long run, that's all.

Nice. I love especially the first one with a lovely contrast of colours. Well done.
