A New Christmas Camera . . . . .
Posted By: Sailor, 12-25-2010, 05:16 PM

. . . . . but not a K-5. Since much of my photography is incidental to other activities, I've been coveting a small but high-quality camera for those times that I don't want to lug an SLR kit around. With considerable help from Blue, jgredline and, especially, Jasvox, I decided on a Panasonic LX5 P&S. Here are some initial examples shot around the house today in RAW and processed via a SilkyPix program that came with the camera, finished off with PSP X in what is (for me) routine PP. Looks like it'll do the trick.

I'm still planning on a K-5 as soon as the early production dust settles (pun sorta intended).

Merry Christmas - I hope everyone had a joyous holiday.

Jer

nice ones... and this is not helping! I'm thinking of retiring my trusty "rusty" K10D GP... and this is really not helping!

Nice shots with the new camera Jer.My backup P&S is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4 which was recommended by a fellow Pentaxian a couple of years ago.It has a Leica lens and does take half decent shots and the video comes out real nice for a sub $200 camera.Have a happy and healthy New Year.--charliezap & family

Those shots look great. The wife and I have been discussing adding a little P&S...Thanks to your shots, I'll be giving the Lumix series a look...
