Nice series. The 5th shot is superb. I also like the 3rd shot.

I have always wondered why such unnatural poses are photographed.

....... there is something alluring about fragile beauty and fallen or broken angels. In this series it offers a dark side and some mystery.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, there is nothing fragile or angelic here. Simply the mystery which I noted.

@spyglass, appreciate the comments. I posted a few others here last week.

Indeed. And I would submit that even the most unnatural of poses - think a ballet dancer on point - can be exquisitely beautiful.

But to each his own. Me? I can take or leave most macro shots of bugs and such. They can occasionally be fascinating or disturbing but I rarely find them moving.

Particularly like #4 (but I would have preferred to see her face - eyes open or shut) and especially #5 (maybe a touch of Burn on her nose would improve it as it looks very close to blowing out).

3 and 5 worked out particularly well. Some do appear soft, though, but you have an interesting subject in Lauren.

Thanks for posting a link to your previous post. I enjoy those photos as well. It is easy for us as photographers to fall into the trap of following the norm, or the expected. So many portrait shots go for the perfectly round peg in a standard round hole. Nice to see a little edge and expand the imagination. I also like the natural outdoor elements you worked into the shots.

Look forward to seeing more,

Yeah, totally agree. Here's a version that's less high-key:

Selectively burning it would be better but I do like it less blown.

Great shots, from which the nrs. 3 and 5 are most appealing to me! And the added one is even better!
