Maybe not ohh and ahh shots , but man was this fun and I tought I would share.

The extended family always get together at my brother in laws lake cabin on Christmas day. We spend the night as well so no worries about driving home. (yes it's a huge cabin)

Every year we have someone pick a theme (We do the chinese gift exchange thing so the first name drawn decides the theme for the next year). This year was the theme was sports from my nephew on last years draw.

My sister in law is always organizing activities for the theme and this year she out did herslef. It was an Olympic Christmas. Each family was given a country (We were the fighting Irish!) and we had 4 events

Bob Sled (no pics of that as I left the camera in the Cabin) - a toboggan down a hill

Curling - Lake ice for the rink and frozen 4 litre milk jugs filled with water for rocks

Biathelon - sking and throwing bean bags at a target .

Broom Ball - real brooms and a ball !

4 countries were represented. Ireland, France, Germany and Italy - all of us had costumes which we did independantly as we we were all really into it. (note even the Olympic flame was lit !)

Biathelon event - first one to reach the pylon gets a point (for the racing portion) - there were several wipe outs (3 people to a set of skies what a blast)



Each bean bag hit was a point as well.



The next event was broom ball - what a hoot!



In the event of a tie we had a 'shoot out' to determine the winner.

And yes we had medal presentations. The wining country of Italy with two golds and a silver.



The weather coperated , it was one of the best days of 2010 for sure. Hope you enjoyed.

ha! Indeed this one was a tad smaller and there was a pre-requisite of 0.05 blood alcohol
