Hmmm. Those are pretty nice. I'm in mid-exchange of a VS1 800 that is piss poor. Hoping for a better one.

Thank you both. One thing I've found is these lens require spot on focus as the DOF is almost as thin as a macro lens. If the focus is off the least little bit the photo is soft and lacks the detail. Also bright ambient light is a must to achieve that spot on focus.

Love the Titmouse. One of my favorite birds and the Cardinals are stunning. I think 2, 3 and 4 are House Finches but is the 7th one a Purple Finch? If so they are getting rarer than hen's teeth it seems. Thanks for posting. Love seeing the birds.

Thank you both. I have many purple finches both male and female visiting my feeders. I will post some in the future for your viewing pleasure.

Nice, great colours! I know these cardinals from the time I was a little kid, but only from photos and drawings. We don't have them, but I would like to see one once so badly.....

PS: you might want to add an extra line between the photos next time, because they are easier to watch.....

Thank you Rense. The Cardinals are a fixture here as I have had as many as 10 in one tree at one time. More to come later..I promise.

Nice job - especially the Cardinals.

I've yet to get an image as good as these.

That M 400 of yours should do it well.

The lens is fine - it's the photographer.

It has taken me several years to get to this point. For that time I've averaged several hundred photos a day. Early on all were tossed as they were so poor. Over time they have improved considerably. Yours will get there with time and practice.
