We had the great luck to have a flock of Cedar Waxwings in our pear tree yesterday afternoon. I couldn't get real close but I got a couple of heavily cropped shots before they flew away..

Very nice! So far, I've been unable to get that kind of detail in the plumage.

I love waxwings and love these shots. The second one is stunning. For some reason these birds remind me of the Afghan (dogs) of the bird world. So elegant and the colors are understated but beautiful. Thanks for posting them.
