One of my fishing partners
Posted By: little laker, 10-01-2007, 11:03 PM

This is my 85 year old friend Gordon, aka thewhiteone on my fishing forums.

He's the person who sold me my new Super Takumar 300mm f4

Anyways he's up here hoping on getting what he says will probably be his last deer, so I managed to get this photo of him.

I don't like the idea of going on a hunt, but it's what I'll be doing tomorrow half hoping that he gets his animal.
A friend of mine was supposed to guide him, but has too much work to do

Stu, I really think this is a great portrait and I bet him and his family would enjoy it. If I had one nit it would be the branch/stick/brown twigs comming in on the right. Lose those and I think it is a winner. Nice story and I am sure you will get some nice shots on the hunt like it or not

Yes, that's a really nice portrait Stu and good colours/tone. I agree with Pat that it could be improved by losing the vegetation sticking up on the right.

Thank you very much

I'll clone that reed out some time.

He did manage to get his buck 2 days ago. Around a 175 pound Mule Deer. He was ecstatic.

Gord does have an entire lifetime of stories to share. And all of them are good stories.

I don't know how his wife convinced him to take the trip out here. She's the love of his life, and you could really tell that he missed her.
As she put it it might be the last trip that he could make.

Me too. And I wish I could get the kind of casual and perfect portrait like this one. Congrats, Stu.
