Project 365 - Twenty Eleven (Completed!!!! ;)
Posted By: EdwardConde, 01-02-2011, 10:16 PM

All,

I decide for 2011 I would start a 365 day photo project. I am calling it "Project 365 - Twenty Eleven". I thought this would be a good way for me to get better at shooting with my KX and at editing on my iPad. My goal is to work on learning the different settings of my KX and the different post-processing techniques for photos.

Here is the link to "Project 365 - Twenty Eleven": Flickr: Project 365 - Twenty Eleven (Photo Project)

Here are my first two photos of my project:

Not shot w/ my KX but an iPhone4:

This one was shot with my KX:

Rainy Day in S. California today...

Feel free to join the group I created for my project on Flickr.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Project 365 - Twenty 11 - #11 (PizzaWithLove.Com)

I went to L.O.V.E. Pizza today on Melrose Ave. in LA. Pretty good stuff there. They had this wall that there customers could write on. Here is a small part of that wall. I took other pictures of the wall and you can find them @ Melrose Ave Flickr Set.

I am a Photo App junkie.... Photo FX Ultra is my primary has a lot of different filters and editing options, the only thing it does not keep the EXIF data... I also have Filterstorm which allows for masking and many photoshop like options and keeps EXIF Data. Photogene is also a pretty good app that keeps EXIF data aswell. Also use impression for the watermarks. I think i have spent about $20 or so on apps for Photos... There are many free options as well.

At the moment I think a lot of the apps tap off at about 3072 x 2048 resolution (8 x 10).

The ipad is a great device to do quick edits on photos. I don't use anything but the iPad.

Project 365 - Twenty11 - #12 (Cinnamon Stick)

Today's photo is low light experiment. I have this little cinnamon stick spray from The White Barn Collection. This is some strong scented stuff. The photo was shot in complete darkness with only my iPad illuminating the bottle.
Edited using Filterstorm2 and Photogene on the iPad. See the EXIF data to get the settings used on this photo.
2 photos were used to create this one. Filter storm has the ability to add exposures on top of each other. Something I just found out today!

Project 365 - Twenty 11 - #13 (Potholes, California)
Potholes, California is the city formally known as Los Angeles. There are so many potholes in this city & county that the name should really be changed. Today's photo is to bring awareness on how bad the streets of LA really are. I hit a huge pothole this morning on my way into work. The photo of the day shows the street in front of my office. I shot it this morning before traffic got heavy.
Something needs to be done about these potholes. Either fix them or change the city and county name to Potholes,California.

seems like I read the mayor was personally filling the potholes, nice series and good luck in LA. Bob

Thanks Bob... Yeah... even in the richy parts of LA like Bel Air and Beverly Hills have rough roads...

Plus the mayor has to get his hands dirty from time to time...

Project 365 - Twenty 11 - #15 (View of Los Angeles)

I went to Griffith Park yesterday and visited the Observatory. All I have to say is what a view... You can see the ocean from up there. This is a view of the city.

It is a beautiful view from there and they did a very nice job of refurbishing the observatory. Do you think the photo should be straightened, or is just me? thanks Bob

hmmm... not sure.. let me check on my photo app and see.. it does look like the righthand side is a bit higher right? i wonder if it is cause of the moutain range in the background on the lefthand side and middle that is giving it that look...

thanks bob for commenting
