Nice shots! Your lunch-mooching friend looks like what we call a Whiskey Jack or Grey Jay. They are quite bold and with only a little patience will eat right out of your hand.

Thanks for the info.. They sure were cute little things.. and it fun trying to get their pictures as they jumped around looking for food..

I was pleased with how they turned out..

Hah! I encountered some of that same species of bird when I was hiking in northern NM last week. They were just as curious/bold with me.

We have a bird that is called or nicknamed a "Camp Robber" due to the fact that where there is food they are not far behind. These Little guys are a bit smaller and a little more white then those that I remember...

They made for a great picture target... that is for sure!!!

Yeppers, I do think that is the same bird.. boy he must of flown a long ways to from where you live to where I live!!!!!
