Snowy dog portraits
Lens: Pentax DA* 16-50mm Camera: Pentax K10D

Took some photos of this beautiful dog for a friend of mine. It was a really snowy day as you can see. The hard part was making the dog stand still for more than 1/10 of a second!
Anyways, I thought these turned out rather nice, would like to hear what you think!

You had me at the title.. I'm a sucker for cute dogs
Great shots, what a gorgeous dog. Looks like a baby version of mine, actually. Only suggestion I would make is a bit more shadows/contrast.

Thanks for sharing!

Not too shabby, if you get my drift.

too cute... reminds me of my old pup ...who loved the snow !! the extreme white background is a bit distracting... you could perhaps crop some of it out.. and could also slightly darken the shot...
but love these pics nonetheless !! dave m

Thanks! What breed is yours? I think this is called a "finnish lapphund". I agree about the contrast, but the light was really flat due to the snow so coaxing more contrast out of it reduces detail too much for my taste.

Thanks! I would have liked to use a bit shallower depth of field to bring the branches a bit more out of focus, but I didn't want to risk getting a blurry muzzle.
Personally, I like the high key look, if you darken it it doesn't look like snow anymore!

Thanks, I think that's my favorite as well Although I think they would look good together arranged in a 2x2 grid.
