Cross and Shadow
Lens: DA 35 Limited Camera: K20D ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F4
Posted By: Sailor, 01-06-2011, 07:06 PM

I'm amazed at how oblivious I can be to things around me - things like this metal cross in a hutch in our breakfast room. I noticed the cross this morning when the sun touched it and grabbed a photo thinking it was something new my wife had placed there. Nope . . . . it's been there for years.

In a perfect world, I would have done this with a tripod, at ISO100 and f/11 . . . . but I didn't have time to set that up before the light would have moved on (maybe tomorrow). Something I wouldn't change: my use of my DA 35/2.8.

Beautiful tactile texture depicted here Jer.
The shadow is brilliantly complementary here.
Thanks for sharing.

Jer, all those years it was talking to you and you didn't pay attention. Great shot and choice of lens. Bob

Thanks so much, Dave. I didn't think of the shot as spooky, at all - but you're right; it does suggest Karloff and Lugosi may be close by.
