Live to be !7 years old or so. A groups sound can be heard for about a mile.

Up close shot, never saw one, when we were in the Carolina's we would sit outside around the campfire and these would start singing and we had a hard hearing each other talk. thanks for introducing us. Bob

Nice shots. Noisy is the operative word. At the moment they have been very noisy here too!
I read where they make the racket only when the temperature reaches a certain level. At least in Australia. Interesting.

Yes it has to be fairly warm before they start their racket.
